Our good friends Adrienne and Jarik introduced us to Donna Jean restaurant. Everything is plant-based here and they make each entree from scratch. It is one of the best vegan restaurants we have been too and we have been to a lot!

The restaurant was opened by Chef Roy. He named it after his mom Donna Jean. She died at the age of 55 from aggressive breast cancer and he believes it absolutely could have been prevented if she would have been given the knowledge and resources to seek out a plant-based diet earlier in life.

As it notes on their website, this is not a health food restaurant. They are selective on their ingredients and make everything from scratch. it is vegan comfort food that even meat-eaters love. Several family members that will not eat anything vegan, will let us take them to this restaurant because it is just that good. The meat-eaters we have taken here have said that if being vegan tasted this good then maybe it’s doable.

Our favorites are the Four Horseman pizza, the Hot Shrooms, the ravioli, and risotto. In honesty, you can’t go wrong with anything on their menu. The first time we tried this restaurant for lunch, we actually returned for dinner the same day! For more information, please visit the Donna Jean website.
