I’ve always been careful with what I put in my body but it wasn’t until I was pregnant that I became very aware of the creams and makeup I was using on top of my skin. I learned about the Environmental Working Group (EWG) and the outdated legislation, harmful practices and industry loopholes that pose a risk to our health and the health of the planet. I coudln’t believe that we could potentially be putting toxic chemicals on our skin without knowing it. The skin is the human body’s largest organ!
The challenge has been finding products that are safe and perform as well as those that we are used to using. Then comes a woman named Gregg Renfrew and creates Beautycounter. She also established a list of 1,800 potentially harmful ingredients that the company avoids using in its products known as the “Never List.” This line will forever change how people view #cleanbeauty. This is not your health food store beauty product. The product is luxurious and so far on the products, we have tried – they have outperformed many of my past department store products. The website is as much like being at a cosmetic counter as we have ever seen. They also have stores in LA, Denver and New York City. We will post some of our favorite products in this line in the weeks to come.
