I’m super picky about what I use on my lips. We tend to eat most of any lip product we use and if your a mom, the lip products also end up on your babies. In addition to being non-toxic, I want my lip products to improve the health of my lips and also look and taste fabulous. Two of my favorite lip products are by 100% Pure Cosmetics. I start with the Strawberry lip butter and top it with the Raspberry Sorbet lip gloss. I’ve tried a lot of ‘natural’ lip products but many of them provide disappointing results. This combination looks great, feels wonderful on the lips, and tastes delicious!I’ll take lip products made from antioxidant rich fruit and vegetable pigments versus chemicals I can’t even pronounce any day. I dare you to take your favorite lipsticks and check out the ingredients on the Environmental Working Group’s Skin Deep database of chemicals and side effects. There was a recent report of a two-year study involving five independent research laboratories – they found hundreds of toxic chemicals in the umbilical cord blood of babies! Do we need to add extra chemicals through our lip products? No we don’t.
The company’s website notes that as much as 60% of topical skin-care products are absorbed through the skin and into the bloodstream. The company uses no synthetic chemicals, chemical preservatives, artificial fragrances, artificial colors and harsh detergents. The ingredients in my favorite lip butter and gloss read like a fruit shake you could drink for breakfast! And tastes just as yummy
