We’ve tried a lot of high-end flat irons over the years…some leaps and bounds better than others. In our search for the best curling iron, we discovered the Sultra Styling Iron and decided it was special enough to include in our Mother’s Day Gift segment. This flat iron uses Japanese Kyocera Ceramic Technology to mend the hair. I’m not sure how a flat iron makes hair appear healthier but what we noticed was hair that didn’t feel damaged and looked super shiny. We also like the fact that it is super light and offers three temperature settings for different types of hair. It’s Spring Cleaning time! CoolStuffCafe was on San Diego Living today sharing some cool tips on Green Cleaning.

We love a clean and organized home and spring cleaning gives you the opportunity to start fresh. We shared some of our secrets to do just that without a ton of chemicals.

A lot of people swear by the homemade cleaning products. In honesty, we are super busy and want something ready and convenient. We also don’t like the scents a lot of homemade products leave in our home. Fortunately, there are a lot of Green cleaning products in the market today. The key is finding the ones that work…those that have tried to go green know that this is easier said than done. Many products just don’t do the job. Here is a list of products that we have tested and love.

iPad mini

When I heard about the iPad mini, I wasn’t sure what to make of it. I mean I already have an iPad and an iPhone so why would I need a mini iPad? Well, I’ll tell you why…when I’m out and about, it is the perfect size apple. It is just big enough and small enough at the same time. It’s super fast. It’s beautiful. And it carries all the apps I’ve come to rely on. Once you try the iPad mini, it will be hard to live without out. The price starts at $329. We love the 64GB white and sliver version. A great gift for any occasion. Just in time for Valentine’s day!

It’s cool to be green. It’s also the right thing to do. But it wasn’t until we test drove the 2013 Tesla Model S that we figured out how fun and exciting it could be! You really don’t realize just how cool this car is until you take it for a spin. There is no doubt in our mind that this is the future of automobiles. After a lengthy test drive, we are here to tell you…the future looks bright!

Is it really possible to be in a green car with zero tailpipe emissions and still go from zero to sixty n 5.6 seconds? The answer is “YES!” The Tesla flies! And it handles like a dream! The car is always on so all you have to do is get in and drive. The design of this amazing car is very modern and we would select it over luxury vehicles that cost much more. The inside is equally stunning and we couldn’t take our eyes off of the 17-inch electronic dashboard. Since this is not a typical car with typical parts, there is a ton of storage space and it seats up to 7 people. All the safety features you would expect are on the Tesla and they are expecting very high scores when it comes to safety.

The base model starts at $57,400 and you have a lot of options that allow you to customize your vehicle. The running costs to charge the vehicle is a fraction of the cost of the gasoline used by luxury sedans. They estimate the car costs roughly $5 to drive 230 miles. The Tesla also qualifies for a $7,500 Federal income tax credit. In California, it also gives you access to the carpool lane. To get your Tesla, you will need a $5,000 refundable deposit to reserve the Model S. As you wait for your car, you will be contacted for a test drive.

I don’t know about you but we hate going to a dealership for service. The Tesla is changing that. First, you only service your vehicle once a year…you heard me! You can then request a mobile technician to come to your home or office to perform any work that doesn’t require a vehicle lift. They also have their own special roadside assistance. It’s been a while since we’ve gotten this excited about a car. In our opinion, every household should have at least one electric car. We’ve been using Sonicare for years so we were excited to hear that there is now one specifically for kids. I wish I had a Sonicare when I was 5! A car seat is so important when it comes to protecting your child. After a lot of research, we selected the Advocate 70-G3 for our little ones. This seat is as plush and comfortable as it is safe. Britax is known for it’s safety and the long list of safety features designed into this seat does not disappoint. When it comes to car seats, we found you get what you pay for. It’s no secret that I love my Italian Espresso. It’s also no surprise that one of my favorite espresso makers is from Italy. We love the Gaggia Brera because it makes a quality cup of espresso and coffee. I guess I’m still old fashioned and prefer espresso from freshly ground organic beans.
