In this day and age of digital everything, I haven’t lost my love of pens. I know I’m not the only one. Don’t get me wrong, I love my computer, laptop, iPad, iPhone, iPod…(you get the idea) but there are still times when a pen is more practical and I want my pens to be just as beautiful and inspired as the tech products I use. Some pen lovers collect pens. I like to use the pens that I collect daily. I also use my fine china daily but we will leave that to another post.
You may or may not have heard of Montegrappa. They are an Italian company and have been designing pens for over a hundred years. I like to think of them less as another company creating another pen and more like talented artists creating usable art. Some of their pens are out of reach for many so I loved it when they came out with the Parola (Italian for “word”) Collection. It cost less than many pens out there but still have the Montegrappa craftsmanship and style. This collection comes in black, white, yellow, and red. You can choose between ballpoint, rollerball, and fountain pen. I really like the rollerball in white…the details on this inexpensive (under $200) pen are impressive. I’m a bit of a ink snob so I prefer this pen with the Pelican refill. If you love pens as much as I do, you need to learn more about Montegrappa. If you are new to high end pens, then the Parola Collection is a beautiful place to start! “Word” (rap for truth)!
