I’m pretty picky about my hotels and in honesty, I rarely stay at one that doesn’t disappoint. That includes 5 star hotels! If I don’t have a referral from an equally picky person, then I do my research on TripAdvisor. More times than not, we end up in a place that is acceptable but not impressive. Once in a while, I am surprised and stay at a hotel that not only tries to live up to its 5 stars but exceeds it by paying special attention to the details. I stayed at the Beverly Hills Hotel with a co-worker on a business trip. She chose the hotel and I was a bit frightened since all that I knew about the hotel was that it was opened in 1912 and I don’t normally care for older hotels. This not an ordinary older hotel. The rooms and the grounds..simply beautiful. They don’t cut corners here. The linens were luxurous and the towels were super plush. The history is also amazing – Elizabeth Taylor spent her honeymoons here, Marilyn Monroe stayed at the hotel…it is the hotel to the stars – past and present! I saw a few A list stars myself at the restaurant that night but what impressed me most was how their service and attention to luxury make you feel like a star!
